Initiative: Outdoor Experiential Classroom and Sensory Garden
Grant years: 2021–22

The outdoor experiential classroom and sensory garden addresses physical and mental health concerns, the need for access to inclusive space, and the lack of leadership opportunities for people with disabilities. Designed with input from our J-Cares interns (adults with autism, developmental disabilities, and other special needs), the space functions as a fully accessible garden, a hands-on learning area, a performance space, and gathering place.
